Throughout the year, SOER hosts valuable workshops for industry professionals. These workshops are currently being held via Zoom on a variety of industry-related topics.

Professional Development Hour (PDH) credits will be offered for all workshops.

Navigating the Mid-Continent Geological Library

The Mid-Continent Geological Library’s mission is to preserve, archive, and disseminate valuable and irreplaceable geological data. This data is continually updated with newly-scanned historical data sourced from the MCGL paper library, plus new well logs filed with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. This workshop will provide an in-depth look at the information and data found on the Digital Library that can greatly benefit small producers or anyone who seeks oil and gas data in Oklahoma or Texas Districts 9 & 10. You will learn how to effectively navigate the Digital Library with step-by-step instructions on how to locate well logs, scout tickets, and strip logs among many others, and how to interpret the data to suit your needs.

Oklahoma Tax Commission

In this workshop, The Oklahoma Tax Commission will help users navigate their account management website more efficiently. Users will learn how to set up an account, link the account, and how to register for reclaimer and transporter licenses. The workshop will also teach how to file a request for a new production unit number to be assigned and how to make changes to an existing PUN. In the PUN lookup, users will learn how to find information about various leases including the most recent production history and how to request historical data.

International School Of Hydrocarbon Measurement

The OERB has teamed up with the International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement to award 12 people a scholarship to attend this year’s school. This is a multiday school, and you will be responsible for providing your own accommodations. The purpose of the School is to provide measurement instruction in both technical and non-technical subjects for personnel in the industry. They do this with tremendous cooperation and support from the University of Oklahoma, other sponsoring industry associations, regulatory commissions, the operating companies within the petroleum industry, and the manufacturing firms that service the industry. Below you will see a list of available classes to take during the conference.
